Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act on behalf of A.P. Dante and Dante Books. We are a UK-based on-line retailer of books and related products and we believe that working environments should be open, inclusive, supportive, and based on mutual respect and trust.

We remain sensitive to the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains. We are committed to acting responsibly and with integrity in all our business relationships and strive to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere within our control or influence.

Our supply chains include a range of suppliers of books and related products. We operate zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking and we expect all those in our supply chains to comply with our values. Wherever possible and commercially viable we will purchase goods and services from established suppliers in the UK. We expect such suppliers to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes in place.

From time to time, we may purchase a range of professional and operational services, such as legal, accountancy, information technology, insurance, design and other such services. These relationships are governed by supply contracts which we aim to ensure are fair and balanced and include responsibilities for compliance.

We acknowledge our responsibility to be alert to the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. We consider the risks in our current supply chains to be low, based on the location of our suppliers and the types of products and services that we purchase. Nevertheless, we continue to monitor and develop our responsibilities in this regard, as appropriate.

We remain committed to the continuous improvement of our knowledge, and to supporting efforts to eradicate modern slavery.

Signed by: A.P. Dante, 19 January 2024
