Colemanballs is a term coined by Private Eye magazine to describe verbal gaffes perpetrated by sports commentators. Named after a former BBC broadcaster David Coleman, a collection of the best examples was published in book form every two years or so. More recently, they have been published under the less specific title of Mediaballs to reflect Private Eye's expanded coverage of gaffes beyond the merely sporting.
